In the opening segment of Due South: Perfect Strangers, as the action begins, Royal Canadian Mountie, Constable Benton Fraser lands on top of Diefenbaker, his wolf dog, who milks every inch of his paw’s injury. Fraser thinks maybe he hasn’t been paying enough attention to the wolf. Personally, I’ll

second that. The scenes with Dief are great, though. Draco plays the wolf dog character well.

There’s also a scene where Inspector Meg Thatcher talks to Fraser about becoming a mother, which gets him all nervous since we all know that she’s after him. The writers of Due South ...

      • seem to think that every woman in North America wants Benton Fraser since they all throw themselves at him in this series. Few women appear on this show without falling for the Mountie.

Scott Hylands guest stars as General Bowman, and he’s perfectly cast. Hylands has a history or playing

intimidating and menacing characters, so he’s well suited for this man who is insistent on getting vengeance for his daughter’s murder. He’s right on the money in this role.

Overall, Due South: Perfect Strangers is not a bad episode, but it is rather average in scope. I’d probably watch it again, though.
