      Cary Grant starred in another winner in 1958 with a movie called Houseboat. The premise in this one is that Grant, as Tom Winters, is a widower, struggling to raise three young children. He really can’t do much to please them until he gets some unsolicited help from

      an Italian bombshell named Cinzia Zaccardi, played by Sophia Loren.

      Naturally, as the movie continues, sparks fly between Tom and Cinzia, complicating life for the widower. His kids continue to gravitate to Cinzia, who he eventually hires to take care of them as they live on a houseboat, hence the ...

        The children are played by Paul Peterson, Mimi Gibson, and Charles Herbert. Also appearing are Martha Hyer, Harry Guardino, and Murray Hamilton.

        The biggest element of this movie is the chemistry between Grant and Loren, who may or may not have had an affair during the making

        of this movie. It all depends on who you talk to. They certainly have a screen magic that worked here. I like the movie, but I’m not a huge Loren fan, and that keeps me from giving it a higher rating. Even so, Houseboat was very entertaining to watch.
