If you’ve heard the latest in Futurama news and are a Futurama fan you’ll probably be just as happy as I am: Futurama is coming back to TV! Unfortunately it isn’t going to be hitting the airwaves again until 2008, so we Futurama fans are just going to have to wait to see the newest adventures of Fry, Leela, Bender and the gang. Fortunately we’ve got four seasons of Futurama available on TV. The first season of Futurama isn’t the best of the seasons in my opinions.

      It has

the fewest episodes (only 13) and the animation and writing hadn’t quite gotten to the point that it was by the end of the run. However there are some true classic episodes available on the Futurama Season 1 DVD.

Here are some of the best episodes from the season: Space Pilot 3000: The Futurama pilot, this is of course an instant classic. Fry is frozen in 1999 and wakes up in the year 2999 on New Year’s Eve.

One of the best episodes of the entire series.

      • 10/10 The Series Has Landed: The second episode of Futurama ever takes Fry and the gang to the moon.

This is a really fun episode and also introduces us to some of the secondary characters: Hermes, Amy and Zoidberg. The rednecks on the moon are a great addition.

9/10 Love’s Labours Lost in Space: This episode gives us Zap Brannigan and Nibbler. Poking a lot of fun at Star Trek this is a really good episode, and sets the stage for Zap and Leela’s relationship throughout the

        series.

9/10 My Three Suns: This is another one of the true standouts in the Futurama canon. The Planet Express Delivery Ship travels to a desert planet where Fry accidentally drinks the Emperor, only to become Emperor himself.

A true classic. 10/10 Fry & the Slurm Factory: Perhaps my favorite episode of Futurama ever, this is a complete rip-off of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory where Fry wins a contest allowing him and the gang from Planet Express to visit Planet Wormulon, only to learn the disgusting secret of Slurm.

        A perfect episode 10/10
