I am reviewing the movie, Beyond the Grave, starring John Nettles and Daniel Casey as Chief Inspector Barnaby and Sergeant Troy. This movie was made in 2000, was produced by Brian-True-May, and is based off the novel written by Caroline Graham. In this film, the setting takes place, a majority of the time, at the local museum, where a

painting of a local historian has been slashed.

Barnaby and Troy are called in to investigate the occurrence, but then further chaos erupts when the curator is suddenly attacked and another person is murdered. Something is definitely afoot in this mystery! Along for the ride is Cully’s actor boyfriend, who recently had acquired a role as a detective sergeant in a play.

Barnaby allows him to follow them around, mainly Troy, who quickly becomes irritated. This whole situation creates several good laughs along the way.

I really liked this film. It was one of my favorite Tom Barnaby murder mysteries.

One of the things I really like about this series is that they input a sense of humor ...

into the show, despite the seriousness of the subject matter: murder. There are always scenes that have a little humor in them, between Troy and Barnaby, and this episode has a great deal of it.

The bantering this time occurs between Troy and the fellow who is following him around. The mystery part of this film was very

good and the acting was superior as always.

The plot was very intriguing and interesting as well. But, like I said before, one of the main reasons I like this one so well is the humor present.

It really makes this episode a great one. I highly recommend this film to anyone and everyone, but particularly those who enjoy murder mysteries.
