I have to keep reminding myself that Diefenbaker the wolf is a regular and isn’t going to have a sad ending, but I have to admit it’s hard. I’m just a huge animal lover and can’t stand seeing anything bad or sad happen. Due South: Pizzas and Promises begins

with a bit where Fraser, our Canadian Mountie, sends his wolf after the bad guy. The problem is that Dief is deaf and can’t hear Fraser call him off. There’s a bit of angst, but fortunately Fraser tracks him down, and Dief is by the car that he ...

      • was following.

The new problem is that the car doesn’t look anything like the stolen vehicle. Fraser and his partner have a difficult time convincing their boss to do forensics to prove the vehicle is the stolen one.

This show also gets a bit wonky. There’s an homage to Hill

Street Blues that was predictable. Since I’d just seen a really superb parody of the cop drama while writing reviews for Dead Like Me, this one fell flat.

Pizza is a sub-theme to this episode, and what it mainly did was make me hungry for pizza.

All things considered, it wasn’t a bad episode.
