Having been postponed one day because of rain in Milwaukee, the Camping World Truck Series Copart 200 race took place on Saturday afternoon, June 20th. With the field lined up by owner’s points, it was Brian Ickler on the pole, and he did lead the first lap before Ron Hornaday passed him.

The race was pretty uneventful for a big part of it. In fact,

early on there had only been two cautions, and for the truck series, that’s very unusual. A third caution came out when Aric Almirola was trying to pit while having problems and another truck came by and he just got loose and spun around.

One thing that the truck series really needs is more green flag action like they had tonight. The trucks tend to ...

      • have a lot of cautions as the drivers race very hard. There’s nothing wrong with being aggressive, but a lot of these drivers are very old school, the guys who no longer run in the Sprint Cup, while others are new drivers hoping to get a ride in the big show. As a result, it’s a combination of over-agressiveness and inexperience resulting in yellow
        laps galore.

As for this specific race, there really wasn’t much of a question on the winning outcome, not with one driver leading just about every single lap. Ron Hornaday celebrated his birthday with this win, beating Dennis Setzer to the checkered flag by several truck lengths.

All in all, a boring race, though the announcers tried to make it out to be much more thrilling than it was.
