The Hangover was definitely a guy’s comedy. Telling the story of the morning after a friend’s bachelor party, where the 3 groomsmen wake up with no memory of the previous evening, a tiger in the bathroom and a baby in the closet, this movie definitely appeals to the college guy mentality. Most of the humor is at this level as well. With a

number of jokes about self-love, bodily functions, and prostitution, this movie will probably either have you laughing out loud or huffing with offense.

That said, there are moments in this movie that are funny no matter how you feel about the rest of it. Ed Helms without a tooth is funny, as is the idea of stealing Mike Tyson’s tiger. The gimic of trying to ...

      • find the missing groom while piecing together the events of the previous evening manages to carry the movie through without seeming like too much of a cliche. And while the movie constantly teeters on the edge of being too offensive, it manages to stay on the right side. It is clear, for example, that the bride and groom have a good relationship, and no
one is trying to break that up. Other characters, from an escort turned wife to an incompetent drug dealer manage to be endearing and appealing, and to pull this movie in just the right direction.

While I wouldn’t call this movie a date movie, it is very funny and as long as you are comfortable with this genre of humor, it might just be one of your favorites.
