  • You don't have to stand for hours holding your hands under some room temperature puff of air, these are so high powered you can wave your hands under and leave] Another nice surprise is that the drinks actually fit in the holder on the seats

This cinema at the 02 is great. I didn’t have high hopes - I’ve been to other Vue cinemas and experienced huge queues to buy tickets, queues at the refreshments counter, queues to get into the screen (as they wait for cleaners between showings) and a learner projectionist fiddling most of the way through the trailers to get the sound and picture right.

      Not so here.

It’s very efficient. You buy your tickets and refreshments from the same counter, or you

can pre-book and print out your tickets at one of the machines outside.

[So no queuing] I’ve always been impressed by just how clean it is - but I’ve yet to see cleaning staff, let alone wait for them so they don’t let this impact customers. [As it should be] The picture and sound have so far been perfect from the moment of walking in and taking your seat.

I’ve only ever been to the minor screens, but they boast ...

      • screen 11 in the main auditorium is the largest in London. The seats are surprisingly roomy.

Some cinemas give you about as much space as on an economy flight, but here there is plenty of leg room and wide, pretty comfortable seats. In the mezzanine area they have premium seats available, and these are even larger.

You can even get double seats. How great is that for a hot date? Well I’ll tell you, based on my serious testing -

        it’s great.

The toilet facilities are again very clean, large (again never a queue) and equipped with hand dryers that actually dry your hands [There’s a novelty. You don’t have to stand for hours holding your hands under some room temperature puff of air, these are so high powered you can wave your hands under and leave] Another nice surprise is that the drinks actually fit in the holder on the seats.

And they sell salt pop-corn and revels. So basically I’m a very happy bunny.
