  • The film is based on Dr. Seuss beloved childrens' book and while I can't remember it completely, I think it would probably be safe to say that there have been some liberties taken with the story, probably in the process of making it feature length

Horton (voiced by Jim Carrey) lives in the jungle of Nool. He enjoys teaching the other jungle animals about the other jungle life but is surprised, himself, when a tiny speck of dust floats by and he hears something on it. Envisioning a poor group of people clinging to the dust, Horton places it on a clover and tries to keep it safe. Little does he know that it isn’t only a group of people that

live on the dust but a whole world, particularly the Who village.

While trying to make contact, Horton finds himself talking to the Who Mayor, who suddenly understands the trouble that the village is in and how they must find someplace safe to permanently rest or their world faces destruction. Now friends, Horton decided to take it on himself to find the dust a safe place to be, deciding on a sunflower on top of a trecherous ...

The film is based on Dr. Seuss beloved childrens’ book and while I can’t remember it completely, I think it would probably be safe to say that there have been some liberties taken with the story, probably in the process of making it feature length. I was pleased that the

story wasn’t too mondernized and didn’t contain quite as many bathroom jokes, although there is one that is specifically dealing with a bathroom. It’s a pretty gentle film that will be appreciated by both children and adults. The digital animation is wonderful and I am glad that they used this format and not live action, as was done with How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Cat in the Hat. The ending was also very sweet and also redepmtive.
