  • I liked the song because of her swinging style, which I thought was unusual at the time, and not so much the lyrics
  • I recommend the singer Blu Cantrell to those who like popular African American music
  • Her singing style is different and even though I'm not the slightest bit interested in her anymore I think she might just be one of the better artistes whose work is overshadowed by other artistes with less talent

When I was still in my younger years in high school, I would listen to hip hop music not necessarily because I was interested in most of the songs, but because a lot of my peers were listening to the music as well and I wanted to fit in . However, there were a few songs which I actually did like and the singer “Blue Cantrell’s” song “Hit ‘em

Up Style (Oops!)”, which was track number two on her debut album “So Blu”. I liked the song because of her swinging style, which I thought was unusual at the time, and not so much the lyrics.

Her next album was the album “Bittersweet” which I don’t know much about. However, I do know that she had done a song in it with the Jamaican deejay Sean Paul and ...

      • her song “Breathe” became quite popular as well. There was also another song on that album which made it quite popular as well.

Recently I haven’t heard anything from the singer Blue Cantrell. This might be because of one of two reasons which are either she had not recorded much since and has just not had as much luck, or she simply has disappeared off the radar. Either way,

I don’t listen to hip hop much anymore so the previous reason might be the one closest to the truth.

I recommend the singer Blu Cantrell to those who like popular African American music. Her singing style is different and even though I’m not the slightest bit interested in her anymore I think she might just be one of the better artistes whose work is overshadowed by other artistes with less talent.
