  • Firstly the XBox 360 pro (20 GB) can be purchased at an affordable price of around $259 and it definitely proves its moneys worth
  • It is currently the best selling console in the market and is not suprising why
  • I personally did not have an xbox live account until recently thoroughly enjoyed the single player experience
  • My Xbox has the Samsung drive and i found that it tends to scratch DVDs very often
  • The Ring of Death problem has been minimized in consoles manufactured recently so it may not be too much of a problem

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is a next gen video gaming machine and one of the most addictive entertainment systems in the market. I purchased m xbox 360 premium, or “pro”, 20 GB console from the UAE way back in 2007 mid December, athough the manufacture date listed is 2006. To describe it in a single phrase. i would say “it is the only entertainment system you will ever need!!”. Compared to its rival the Sony Playstation 3, which is a more powerful and has better graphics than the Xbox 360, the Xbox 360 proves to be much more worth the purchase.

Firstly the XBox 360 pro (20 GB) can be purchased at an affordable price of around $259 and it definitely proves its moneys worth. It is currently the best selling console in the market and is not suprising why. The Xbox 360 has a wide range of games (much more than the Sony PS3)and has some popular exclusive titles such as Gears of War and Halo.

I personally got the Gears of War game free with my Xbox and purchased Halo 3 seperately, and i gotta say that both of them are definitely worth the purchase.

Xbox Live is another feature of the xbox 360 that makes it extremely addictive. All you will need is a router or a modem and also a credit card ,if you want the gold membership, and you are ready to go. Be warned thogh Xbox Live is extremely addictive and will keep u playing for countless hours. But still if you do not have an xbox live connection, it is still very very addictive.

I personally did not have an xbox live account until recently thoroughly enjoyed the single player experience. When you purchase the xbox 360 premium you will get the xbox 360 console itself, xbox 360 controller, AV cables that even lets you connect to an HD TV, user manuals, power supply and probably a free game/s as well. The controller is very simple to get the hang of although at first u might find it a little bit tricky. There are also illegal modifications available that let o play backup copies of games, if yo find the original games too costly to purchase.

Be warned though, if Microsoft detects that you are using a modded Xbox, you will be permenantly banned from xbox live. The modification is a a firmware hack that cheats the xbox dvd drive to thinking that the game inserted is an original game, whereas it isnt. These backed up games can be downloaded off the internet and burned onto a DVD DL and you are ready to play. This applies only to the modded XBox so if you have not modded your xbox 360, you will only be able to play original games.

This has to be done at your own risk. There are three types of DVD Drives: the Samsung drive, Hitachi drive and the Benq drive. These drives do not really different and ...

they all read the same HD DVDs. My Xbox has the Samsung drive and i found that it tends to scratch DVDs very often.

This problem has yet to be fixed by Microsoft. Whether or not the other DVD drives have this problem, im not too sure. Apart from playing games the Xbox 360 also lets you watch movies and listen to music. The only type of media that canbe watched are videos in DVD format and WMA files.

MP3s can only be played and cannot be copied onto the drive. Audio CDs, however, can be ripped onto the harddrive. Now for the biggest drawback of the Xbox 360, the problem that i am also currently facing, The 3 red light error/E74 error or more commonly known as ” The Red Ring of Death”. This problems is caused due to extreme overheating resultinfg in a hardware failure.

It occured to me less than a year from my purchase and i tell you, this can make you

absolutely hate your XBox 360!! This error can be fixed though by shipping it to Microsoft or also there are repair kits that allow you to fix it yourself. I cannot comment on this because of the fact that i havent tried it yet. I did find a place that fixes this for less than a fraction of the cost that it will cost you to ship it to Microsoft ($140+), but unfortunately it seems that they were unable to fix it and probably made the problem even worse!

So if you are planning on purchasing an xbox 360 i would definitely recommend you purchase one as it is definitely worth the purchase and promises a unique gaming experience. The Ring of Death problem has been minimized in consoles manufactured recently so it may not be too much of a problem.

So i hope you found this review useful, if you did, then please do rate it. Thankyou.

Well xbox 360 isn’t the best selling as it may talk about 4k and fhd but display quality is not satisfactory as compared to other consoles like ps4 pro .
