I relocated to Sydney around 2 months back and I needed ADSL connection for my new home. For the same, I visited the offices of several providers such as Optus, Telstra, and Dodo. However, they were quite forthcoming in telling me that my ADSL would take over 3 weeks for them to connect since they did not have a slot in the suburb where I stay. I researched more providers as I desperately needed one quickly. Finally, it was iPrimus that assured me that I would get the connection in 7 days as they had the

necessary slot in the exchange. I jumped on the opportunity and took up their plan of landline telephone + ADSL.

The harrowing part began soon after. The landline was connected within a couple of days but there was no sign of a modem even after 7days of the same. On calling them, I was informed that they would do it within the next week and apologized profusely. I let it pass but was disappointed that I should’ve definitely been informed about the change! Another week passed and still I did not hear anything from iPrimus and ...

      • hence I placed a call again. Now they told me Telstra was busy and hence the delay (I would never know the truth) and the apologies began. I was disgusted now especially with the fact that there was never any form of communication from the provider, which is their duty and that shows how much they lack in professionalism! Next, I received a surprise…internet bill from iPrimus! It had been over a month now with my landline being connected and no internet. I had to argue my way into making them nullify my internet bill, which
        ideally they should’ve never sent!

I was in the end relieved of the bill amount but was left bitter by the entire experience. I finally got the connection after I threatened them, in no uncertain terms, that I would withdraw my membership! But one good thing is that the connection is great and upto the standards promised, though I would not say the same about their customer service. I would suggest anyone requiring ADSL connections in Sydney to avoid getting tricked (like me) by service providers but put in more research of their own to get the best deal.
