I am reviewing the movie, Blood Will Out, starring John Nettles and Daniel Casey as Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby and Detective Sergeant Gavin Troy. This movie was made in 1999, was produced by Brian True May, and was based off of the novels written by author Caroline Graham. In this movie, there are complications everywhere, especially in the form of relationships by marriage.

When an ex-army man is found shot to death in his home, Tom Barnaby and Troy are called to the scene to investigate, but they

soon become overwhelmed and confused with all the villagers. There are just too many suspects! Additionally, there seems to be a traveling band of people who have settled on the lands, only adding to Barnaby’s possible list of suspects.

Many people are upset about their arrival, thinking them to just be thieves and drifters, and nothing else. They see them as plain trouble, especially the murdered man, whom everyone saw as a bully.

It seems to Barnaby and Troy that no one seems sad that the man ...

      • is dead, in fact most seem relieved. This makes things a little more than difficult for the two police officers, as narrowing down a suspect seems practically impossible.

I really liked this film, but I had the killer picked out right away. I have a knack for picking them out though, so I should say that the killer isn’t blatantly obvious.

Far from it, I suppose. That’s one really good thing about this series is that the killers aren’t obvious, unless you’re a genius like

Haha. Anyway, I really liked this film because of all the people involved and the fantastic acting.

The players do a fantastic job, as well as the obvious talents of Nettles and Casey. The intrigue is amazing in this film, as is the mystery.

This film was not once dry or boring in any part. I watched the whole thing through without complaint or fast forwarding.

It is a murder mystery that will keep you guessing up until the end. I highly recommend this film to everyone.
