  • I think that it would be neat if people really could do some of the things with telepathy that hey did in this episode but I also see where it could be a dangerous thing

Star Trek Voyager season 3 episode 6 is called Remember. It is rightly so in that Torres begins have odd dreams that are more vivid than any she has ever experienced in her life before, shortly after taking on some passengers from another race.

Through a joint effort Janeway agreed to take on boarders from a race of people who were on their way home from a distant colony in exchange for some knowledge on efficiency that would help her

      ship perform better.

These people have tremendous telepathy abilities and shortly after their arrival one of them decided to use her abilities to show Torres some atrocities that happened by her own people’s hand in hopes that the memories would be handed down and not forgotten.

They appeared as dreams in the beginning but had profound effects on Torres to the point that it began affecting her job and eventually was causing her to black out in the hall way.

      ...

      • It seems that the dreams were causing brain damage.

When investigated to find out how theses dreams were being caused by they discovered the truth behind the atrocities but no one wanted to admit that they were true.

As the people were about to go home Torres convinces one of the girls she worked with in engineering to listen and through use of her telepathy she shows her what she has learned from the old woman that died trying to

let the truth be known about her people.

I think that it would be neat if people really could do some of the things with telepathy that hey did in this episode but I also see where it could be a dangerous thing.

So maybe it is a good thing it is just in a show and not for real.

Power of that type could be exploited and used against us in ways that only few would dream about.
