Star Trek Voyager season 3 episode 5 is called false profits. It is one of the best episodes I have seen yet.

My favorite characters are the Ferengi which have proclaimed to be false profits in a small society in the delta quadrant.

The members of Voyager stumble across them

by accident when they detect that they have a replicator.

Janeway is rather disturbed to see how they are taking advantage of the people in this culture by using the power of the replicator and claiming to be gods.

So she decides to trick them into leaving due to the ...

      • fact that she feels the federation is in part responsible for them being their.

The Ferengi are greedy and operate off of a principle of acquisition to obtain wealth and status.

They seem to only be motivated by greed and would sell each other out if it meant obtaining more

        wealth.

So Janeway uses that as a basis of tricking them into leaving by making it less desirable to stay for the Ferengi.

Thus with them leaving they would not pillage the innocent villagers of this community any longer but not cause more damage to their religion if possible.
