Witness for the Prosecution is absolutely wonderful. The plot takes so many unexpected twists and turns that it keeps the viewers head spinning. In fact, by the time you get to the end, it’s like — wow! Incredibly, at the end of this film, the producer comes out and requests that viewers don’t spoil the ending for those who haven’t seen it yet.

Charles Laughton plays the British barrister who handles the defense on what seems like a sure-fire guilty verdict against the very handsome Leonard Vole. Marlene Dietrich is Christine Vole, with Elsa Lanchester as Miss Plimsoll, the nurse.
