After a long while, I’m back here, just to write a short review about the film “Alexander” from Oliver Stone. The film is about Alexander the Great. Many meaningfull historical event are forget, and I think that Alexander was not that mad man.

The photography is at the level of Oliver Stone?s best works Star Colin Farrell, plays the role or Alexander, The Great leader and warrior. The film doesn?t shows the Alexander’s

first batle beside his father, so important in the building or his strenght as a warrior.

Alexander father?s murder is not clear in the middle of the film, becaming clear only at the final. It is not clear in the film what was the destiny of his half-brother, the second wife?s baby that apears in the scenario of his father?s murder.

Many legendary batles was absent in the film, like Granicus, Issus and ...

      • Tyre are absent. The batle against King Darius III of Persia (for the second time) in a 331 B.

        C. was won by Alexander even being 47,000 against 250,000 warriors.

At India’s conquest, Alexander is nearly killed, in a fight that the Indians used elephants in the combat. Anthony Hopkins, is perfect as the Greek historian Ptolemy, narrating time from time to his scribes.

Sincerely I’m doubt about the relation between Alexander and

Hephaistion (Jared Leto). Was this childhood friend and military colaborator in fact his life-long homosexual companion?

There is a very ridiculous and animalistic sex scene between Alexander and his first wife Roxane (Rosario Dawson), a Bactrian princess.

Angelina Jolie, is perfect cast as Olympias, his indomitable, dangerous mother who never ages. I’m sure that the true story of Alexander the Great is much more interesting, prodigious and full of proud that the film?s story, as Alexander is one of the most important conqueror ot the earth.
