Product: Maybelline ExpertWear Eye Shadow Quad Color: Mocha Motion

There really isn’t anything overtly mocha about the Mocha Motion palette. The name suggests browns, but the tone is definitely more grey; it’s a cool palette, which works well for my fair complexion and black hair.

The highlighter color for the brow bone is a soft

matte white. I usually prefer shimmery whites, but this one is all right. It goes on well; I only need one coat, and it’s not as sheer as the shimmery whites I usually use.

Then there’s a really gorgeous dove grey color, intended for using all over the lids. It has the faintest taupe undertone,

      • which makes it a very versatile neutral. It has a tiny bit of shimmer to it, making it appear more silver than taupe.

The next color is a darker silver with no brown tones at all. It’s almost pewter, more shimmery than metallic, and great for highlighting the creases of the eyelid. It’s a rich

and powerful color, so I only use a little at a time.

The last color, intended for accenting the outer corners of the eyes, is a medium taupe color that’s actually no darker than the pewter color. It doesn’t do a very dramatic job of accenting, honestly; the result is a bit too neutral for my tastes.
