      Tim Burton is surely a genius. He captured with his vision, the delectability and wonderment of Wonkaland.


      Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka was also a stroke of genius.

      Depp has the ability to transform into really complex characters.

      And believe it or not, it takes someone who’s a little on the wacky side to really dive into this role and make it believable.

      There are several changes from the original version.

      But what I love is that Tim Burton has retained the magic of the original, while updating ...

      Also, the children have been cast very well.

      I was specifically pleased with how Charlie’s family is portrayed.

      While all the other children appear to come from modern households, Charlie’s home leans

      precariously in one direction, and looks to be on the verge of falling over.

      Furthermore, the poverty looks and feels authentic.

      I think that this is one of the few remakes that actually works–thanks to Depp and Burton.
