    • Item: Sabrett Franks (hot dogs) Location: by: Famous

Anyone who’s visited New York City frequently knows about the hot dog carts which basically dot every other corner of Manhattan. These carts are full of dirty looking water that house the most wonderful tasting franks ever.

      (Thus, the name

      “dirty franks).

Anyway, these hot dogs have a very distinct flavor–and always taste terrific with any number of toppings: mustard (brown of course) red onions, or sauerkraut.

This was always a favorite treat of mine to grab on the street.

      A New York frank and a ...

      • grape soda.

That would keep me going for a few hours.

Well, as it turns out–the franks sold in these carts are called Sabrett franks.

And you can buy them in stores across the country.

It certainly isn’t the same as eating them in

        the street.

But they still have the same flavor.

And there are even Sabrett toppings sold–the same toppings that come on the carts in NYC.

Outside of Nathan’s hot dogs (the hot dogs sold at Coney Island)–Sabrett franks are the only hot dogs I’ll eat.
