  • The club opens it's doors on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays usually at a bargain price of £10 which includes a disco afterwards
  • I've usually never heard of the comedians, but that doesn't mean anything - they are always very funny and with any luck you'll remember their names afterwards

This is a Greenwich gem. Forget the park, the boat (it’s being restored anyway, nothing to see) Don’t waste time at the Royal Observatory (time, geddit?) Go here instead.

Happily bad jokes can only be found in my opening paragraph.

The club opens it’s doors on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays usually at a bargain price of £10 which includes a disco afterwards. (No disco on Sunday, but reduced rates instead) It

opens at 8 and the acts are usually on stage by around 9 until 11pm. There is a compere, and three or four comedians depending on the line-up. I’ve usually never heard of the comedians, but that doesn’t mean anything - they are always very funny and with any luck you’ll remember their names afterwards. I recently noted the names of Adam Bloom and Geof Boyz.

Importantly, the Compere’s can be ...

      • excellent here. They really engage the audience, and deal with heckles in a witty manner as opposed to aggressive, dismissive manner which can sometimes create a bad atmosphere. Never a problem here.

Service at the bar is great, very quick and efficient, and although some of the drinks leave a lot to be desired (the house wine is, frankly, horrible) it’s generally good. There’s even a restaurant upstairs, where they do

some Chinese / Thai food which is basic but satisfying.

All in all it’s a great night out. I’ve never failed to giggle throughout the show, or almost cry with laughter - infact I’ve managed to almost choke and spit out my drink a few times because a gag got me completely by surprise. Charming I know. Luckily it’s quite dark in there an no-one can see me laughing, quite literally, like an idiot.

        Go Up the Creek!
