I have read the book ‘Upanishads’ written by Patrick Olivelle. Upanishads is actually a very ancient literature. It is one of the hindu scriptures. Patrick Olivelle has written it in a very good style. But the philosophy of Upanishads is not something easy to understand. The philosophy of the Upanishads has got an unique beauty. It is incomparable and unique.

The author has translated this literature from the original language, Sanskrit. The author has also given the meanings

of the verses. In the introduction, the author has written the background during which the Upanishads were written. The author has told us the social structure of India during that time and also the history and chronology.

Upanishads are one of the sacred scripture of Hinduism. Upanishads is a treasure of spiritual philosophy. In the Upanishads, it is written about the creation of the universe. It is clearly mentioned how the source of all life or God ...

      • created this universe. The author also writes about how the Upanishads speak about the way through which man can reach God. There is also a small story in the book in which a father explains to his son that how everything in the creation is actually one with the creator.

This book is very interesting and worthy to be read. The author has done a good job in translating it. I found the philosophy of the book

very nice. At the same time, there are passages in the book which are difficult to understand. But overall, the book is very good to read. And I can recommend this book to read by those who love to read.

I have read this book twice in order to understand it better. I am very thankful to the author who has taken the trouble of translating this great piece of literature. I will rate this book full 10 points.
