Brock University, located in St. Catharines Ontario, Canada’s “Garden City”, is a mid-sized University that offers a great student experience and a great educational experience. I completed a four year degree in Communications at Brock and have nothing but good memories about it and the people who made it a great experience.

The classes I took were challenging and comprehensive, yet the proffessor’s and teching assistants always created a very encouraging and helpful environment for the classes to be run in. Some classes were very large and other were very small, but regardless of class size, I always felt like a real person who was respected as a valued student by the faculty.

      There always

seemed to be a personal relationship between myself and my professors, unlike many larger schools who may have professors who do not care to ever spek individually to any student. As far as academics go, Brock is known for its established business and concurrent education programs.

However, there is an array of quality programs to be taken at Brock University. Since I majored in communications, I can speak the most of it and say that it is a very satisfying and eye opening program.

In communications, you really get the education not only needed to understand meaning in the world, but also to understand how and why that meaning is made and ...

      • interpreted. It really is all about making sense of social relations in the globalizing world and how people interpret things and express themselves.

Meaning is everywhere when you actually stop to look at life. Of course, Communications is much more than just that, but that is what I feel is really at the core of its teaching.

The Brock Campus is rather compact, which to me is great since you can walk from one side of the campus to the other in less than 15 minutes. Everything you need is right there on campus.

There are seven residences on campus, all of which offer different but great living experiences. The Walker complex

is a new and attractive athletic complex with a newly referbished weight room and above ground track.

Also, the lecture halls and seminar rooms offer a comfortable and positive learning experience. You feel like you are in a high quality institution while you’re there, which you are.

And lastly, the location is beautiful as Brock rests in the lush heart of the picturesque Niagara region. Brock University does not get enough credit for being a fantastic option for a great education and a great experience.

Although Brock is relatively young in comparison to other more established universities in southern Ontario, it still offers a high quality education and does so in a more personal and intimate academic setting.
