One of the beautiful tourist spots here in Negros Oriental which offers great adventures is the dolphin watching in Bais City. This city, known as the “Sugar City” of Negros Oriental, is located of about 45 kilometers from the province’s capital, Dumaguete City.

The dolphin watching in Bais City has already become known and admired not only by local tourists but also by foreign tourists who will come just to see and experience the adventure brought by this place. The adventure’s journey will

start at the Capiñahan Wharf where motorized boats are available for use to reach Tañon Strait, the dolphin species’ natural habitat. There are also available friendly tour guides to assist the visitors in their adventure. The boat cruise travel from the wharf to the strait will take up to 45 minutes through the Bais Bay.

Upon reaching the Tañon Strait, visitors and tourists have to wait for the dolphins to appear in their sight. In fact, a visitor can clap his or her ...

      • hands to call for the dolphins until they will start to emerge. The visitors have to be patient enough until these beautiful sea creatures will become visible. However, tourists are warned to observe appropriate behavior when going dolphin watching since any inappropriate action, like touching, feeding and swimming with the dolphins, may bring unexpected reactions from these sea creatures. Feeding the dolphins may catch the attention of the sharks nearby and touching the dolphins may annoy them. These warnings are set to
        avoid unforeseen accidents.

There are available and well-trained sea wardens who will do the patrol and guard around the area to make sure that the dolphins are protected from anything that will bring harm to these creatures. The most excellent time of the year to go dolphin watching in this spot is from March to October since the seas between these months are smooth. One can bring his or her families and friends and enjoy this memorable and wonderful adventure in the sea.
