What comes to mind when you hear “Cuban food”? Certainly not Mexican - I hope. Even though the stock is the same (fish, poultry, beef) the sauces are two worlds apart.

Take their guava-sauce chicken for instance.

Every juicy bite has a tangy kick that makes for an exciting meal.

If fruit isn’t your cup of tea, you can go for their tried-and-true garlic chicken — an aromatic blend of herbs that will outdo grandma anyday! Their specialty is an oxtail stew so tender it slides right off the bone.

The service at this restaurant is 5 stars.

      My friend ...

      • took a year and a half poring over the menu as the waiter patiently, for lack of a better word, waited.

Nathaniel took so long deciding between garlic or guava that the waiter actually offered to do half and half.

Cuban Bistro is located in the center of downtown Alhambra.

        Think date night + entertainment.

Just across the street is a happening club, and around the corner is an ice-cream joint.

Because it gets quite busy on weekends, I’d suggest reserving a table.

My only complaint is that the lot is 2 blocks away.

No biggie — I’m just being an LA snob.
