THE Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) Company has failed us so much with the conventional landlines. There are four of them in our office but they are always down and out. The conventional phones are always dead and the linemen would always tell us it is due to the poor wirings inside the building and they can’t fix this because this is the job of our building electrician. When the next lineman came the last time because of the persistent “dead phone” problem, he suggested we try the PLDT wireless landline so we could get rid of the cable or wiring problem. Well, we already have a Bayantel wireless landline which is so far giving us a fairly good service so we denied the linemen’s proposal and we thought to just buy another unit of Bayantel wireless landline

      phone.

But just as we were about to call the Bayantel agent to avail of our second wireless landline phone, my Boss changed his decision and decided to just try the PLDT wireless landline deal. She was convinced by a friend who has been using this wireless phone service of the PLDT.

So her friend did the procedures for us. She just called 101-328 of the PLDT to arrange everything. So, it was so easy. The office acquired the Cordless unit after paying the fee of Php.1,100. It is a Portable home phone without the cables. Just like the BAYANTEL we could bring it along and make a call anywhere in the office and nearby places. It has a SIM that could be use in another cellphone or open handseit if if you chose “Open SIM” option but ...

      • we opted rather to avail of the “Locked-SIM” feature to make sure the SIM will be exclusively for official use only.

It also has easy phone number storage feature so we can just press the stored number to get in touch to any desired contact. It also has loud speaker so we could use this feature if more people would want to hear the person on the other line.

We are now paying a monthly Service Fee of P600. This Package includes 600 minutes FREE local calls and 120 FREE SMS. This is comparatively cheaper than the conventional landline. Another advantage is we can enjoy its Landline Plus Texting feature. We can send SMS to any mobile network or to another PLDT Landline Plus Line and received SMS too. There is additional charges of P1

per succeeding minutes for local calls and P1 per additional SMS if we exceed free calls and SMS which I think is fair enough.

Now the performance of this PLDT Wireless landline is nothing different from that of our BAYANTEL Wireless landline. It has almost the same features, although it is connecting quite faster than the BAYANTEL maybe because we are almost always calling PLDT subscribers too. There are also some dead spots where the phone could not transmit nor receive message so we have to make sure the phone is located in a place with high signal. We also have to charge the phone overnight at least twice a week to assure there will be no inconvenience of getting low battery in the middle of conversation. We are so far satisfied with the performance of the PLTD wireless landline.
