Sharon Farrell is the big guest star in Wagon Train: The Pearlie Garnet Story, a ninety-minute, seventh season episode of the series. There’s little to love about Pearlie. She’s a pathetic and sad character, and this is her story, much of which is told in flashback.

The story reveals Pearlie’s unrighteous ways while

traveling on the wagon train, how she ultimately gets kicked off by scout, Duke Shannon, and then what happens when Duke and Bill Hawks (Terry Wilson) run into her a couple of months later.

After being run off, Pearlie ends up involved with a woman named The Duchess (Marilyn Maxwell). Their connection turns ...

      • out to be surprising, but even more shocking is what ends up happening to The Duchess. It’s very dramatic and even intense. I’m not sure the audience ever saw the climatic part of the story coming.

Farrell and Maxwell really have a strong dynamic, and they make their scenes together be very

        strong and powerful.

There is some very solid supporting actor in Wagon Train: The Pearlie Garnet Story, including Hugh Beaumont and H.M. Wynant. It’s an okay episode that certainly has some unusual twists to it. If you don’t pay attention for a minute, you might miss the crucial turn in the plot.
