      Since 1920s Philippine Long Distance Company (PLDT) has been the leading provider of diverse range of telecommunications services in the Philippines. Aside from landlines, PLDT expanded their services thru providing wireless services; internet services and even prepaid phone cards. The competitions such as Globe Telecoms and Bayan Tel arise just few decades after.

      However, if I am not mistaken, most household still trust and make use of the services offered by PLDT more. MY parents in the Philippines, in fact are still using PLDT for


      major telecommunication needs such as landline phones and internet.

      They seldom complain. If they do its usually because of a telephone line in need of repair or DSL not working, which are attended and fixed immediately.

      According ti my parents, the kind of services PLDT provides is not exceptionally good- just average. Their charges for their services are pretty high and costly too! I totally agree because I experienced PLDT services first hand when I was still living in the Philippines.

They have the customer service hotline which you can reach by calling 171 via landline; repair service hotline which you can reach by calling 173, DSL helpdesk which you can reach toll free via calling 172 (available twenty four / seven ) and finally, directory assistance which you can reach via landline on 187 (charges PhP3 with every transaction).

        All of which are available mostly Mondays to Fridays, 8:00am to 5:00pm (but they are also available on weekends.

        If these numbers aren’t enough, clients can go directly to the PLDT Business Offices nationwide.

        The kind of support they provided are also not exceptional, they are just on the average too! What I like about PLDT is that you can register on their website and they send you your bill online. All you have to do is integrate it with your bank and you can pay your bills online! That is convenient! So in conclusion, if I have to rate PLDT, it will be a 7.

    They are below average when it comes to services, when you tell me. Now that there are more important needs for cellular services and is one of the few that remained loyal to their home phone services, this company will not prioritize you but keep on sending you out bill even with outstanding issues that are not yet resolved. I wish PLDT would come to their senses. Globe has better landline and DSL services than them when it comes to handling customer response. Maybe because PLDT is such an old company that they fail to embrace change and accept that people do have a choice sometimes? They were so used to being the only choice hence, the arrogance of handling customers because they do not have a choice.
