This is a non-Robert Fuller episode of Wagon Train, except for a piece of stock footage inserted at the tail end of the show for comedic effect. The man had a great contract, that’s for sure. The Bleeker Story is the story of a family that Duke Shannon runs into while scouting for the

wagon train. Eventually, the Bleekers join up with the train. They aren’t exactly the law-abiding type, though.

Joan Blondell is Ma Bleeker, and she’s rough and tough. I really love Blondell. She was one of the blonde bombshells of the old studio days, and when she aged, she just went with it, taking ...

      • on parts such as this one and the role of Lottie on Here Come the Brides a few years later. Ed Nelson plays her oldest son, a rather psychotic villain.

Brooke Bundy plays a young woman on the wagon train who falls for one of the Bleekers. Also in the show is Ruta Lee.

Wagon Train: The Bleeker Story isn’t one that I watch very often. Even with Blondell and Bundy, both of whom I enjoy watching, I just wasn’t that fond of the story.
