DC Comics’ Vertigo line has released a new and incredibly dark western comic called Loveless, about a southern man, Loveless, and his wife trying to find peace

and harmony in the reconstruction era. Western comics were the rage fifty years ago, but they have become almost extinct in recent years and, quite honestly, Loveless makes you wish they stayed extinct. Why would someone want to read a western comic loaded with foul language and brutal scenes of gang rape? What purpose ...

does this comic serve other than to revolt and induce gagging?

The Vertigo line of mature titles has spawned some excellent comics, but this one just crosses

the line into rude exploitation. Beyond the exploitation, there is very little plot of substance to this junk. Avoid it at all costs unless you have some weird fantasies that require psychiatric eveluation.
