It was rock week on American Idol, and the four remaining American Idol contestants were ready for it. Adam Lambert started it off with a rockin’ Whole Lot of Love. It was another solid performance. If he doesn’t win the season, it’ll be a real shocker.

Allison Ireheta sang Cry Baby, a song that is suited for her voice. She was sporting a new hairdo as well, courtesy

of Lambert’s hairdresser. Her voice is suited for the song, but it just didn’t engage me. It was a nice job, but nice isn’t going to make her an American Idol.

Kris Allen sang Come Together, a Beatles song. It was okay, but like Ireheta, it didn’t hold me to the screen. It was a decent accompaniment to what I was doing on the computer, but not compelling enough ...

      • to make me stop and watch the whole way through.

Danny Gokey sang Dream On, which was a stretch and out of his comfort zone. It’s not really a song I enjoy, and hearing him sing it didn’t change that opinion. This wasn’t Danny’s best performance.

New tonight was the pairing of two idols to sing a duet. That was just plain fun. Danny and Kris sang and then Adam

and Allison sang. It was really a great idea. Both performances were good, but Adam and Allison really rocked it. It may have opened the door for her to survive another week, and who knows what can happen after that.

As for who might be voted off, my guess is Kris. His solo was the weakest of the night, and his duet wasn’t as good as the last one either.
