      “The Wild Little Horse” is a chidren’s book written by Rita Gray and illustrated by Ashley Wolff. It was published in 2005, but the style of the book’s story and artwork makes you think of an earlier era.

      Pros: Well, there is certainly nothing in this story that will


      offend anyone, and I mean absolutely anyone! Basically the story introduces us to a baby horse who wants to go for a run by himself. That is pretty much the extent of the story. However, the artwork is pretty appealing, with big pictures of the horse running through different environments (beach, fields, etc).

      Cons: The book is pretty boring. There is no conflict in the entire book. The author spends the entire book describing how the little horse gallops across the sand or the grass. Yes, it is an appealing scene, but it ...

      can only go so far. If the little horse would have actually done something on his run, or encountered something new, that might have added a level of interest to the story.

      Overall: The story is boring and your youngster will quickly forget all about it, unless she is

      the biggest horse fan in the entire world. The author did not even bother to give the baby horse a name! How are you expected to remember a book where the main character is not even named? I give this book only a 4 out of 10.
