  • What I don't like about the Vtech 2101 Cordless Telephone is its battery
  • This can be a problem but it's just a matter of determining when you don't use the phone for a couple of hours such as at night when you're sleeping in which case you can place the handset in its base for recharging and still be able to make or receive calls
  • The best thing about it is its coverage or range

The Vtech 2101 is a Cordless Telephone with a stand up design, meaning the phone is in an upright position when placed in its base. It comes in a box with the handset, a base unit, a telephone line cord, battery, power adapter and a user’s manual. The handset is pretty small, measuring 16.1 cm x 5.3 cm x 3.9 cm (LxWxT) with the little one-inch antenna excluded. The base of the Vtech 2101 Cordless Telephone is also pretty small, measuring only 11.5 cm x 0.1 cm x 9.5 cm (LxWxT). The base can be desk or wall mountable. Its size is what first got me interested in this telephone.

The Vtech 2101 Cordless Telephone features an in use/charging indicator, any answer key, page/handset locator, last number dial, 10 number speed dial, 30

channel operation, and selectable ring tones. These features are pretty good for this inexpensive cordless telephone. I really like its handset locator since I tend to misplace a lot of things including this cordless telephone. In case you misplace the handset, all you have to do is press the page key on its base and the it will ring the handset for one minute before ending the page automatically. A very handy feature for clutter bugs like me!

The Vtech 2101 Cordless Telephone user’s manual is very easy to follow and understand. The handset is also very user-friendly so anyone should be able to use it with little to no difficulty at all. Connecting the handset’s base to the main telephone line is very easy as well as installing its battery. You have ...

      • to place the base near an electrical outlet though since you have to plug its power adaptor to the base for the phone to work.

What I don’t like about the Vtech 2101 Cordless Telephone is its battery. I only used the telephone for a few months and the battery was already dead. It’s easy to replace the battery though since there are compatible batteries for sale. Though the handset can be used for hours on standby without recharging, you have to put the handset in its base if not in use since it will take a few hours for the battery to be fully recharged. This can be a problem but it’s just a matter of determining when you don’t use the phone for a couple of hours such as at night when you’re

sleeping in which case you can place the handset in its base for recharging and still be able to make or receive calls.

Overall, the Vtech 2101 Cordless Telephone is a very good inexpensive cordless telephone. It has all the basic functions of a telephone and its well constructed and built to last. Its battery though doesn’t last very long but its pretty easy to buy a new one. The best thing about it is its coverage or range. I went out of my house and the signal was still very clear. I was about 7 meters away from my house and the base was in my room and the signal was still good! If you’re looking for a basic cordless phone with good coverage, then the Vtech 2101 Cordless Telephone would be a good buy.
