  • I have not yet tried to install any other toolbar because I like the minimum and no fuss looks of Google chrome
  • Disadvantage is that unlike Firefox it does not save the tabs before closing, although it shows them on the homepage
  • Another problem is that you can not change your save password option, once you have declined and said never for this site

I installed Google chrome browser because the Firefox browser was very slow and often asked for a restart. I downloaded Google Chrome and installed it in minutes. On completion it asked to set up defaults and offered to import history, saved password and bookmarks from Firefox, and we were set.

The home page shows the recent and most visited pages in thumbnail form which makes it easier to choose. There is also a list of recently closed links and recent bookmarks on the side and when you hover the cursor on the link, it shows details in a bubble.

I have never seen such a neat browser, there were no nonsense about There is no toolbar at the top which

saves a lot of screen space and I can view more of the web page than before. Instead there are edit, view, tools buttons on the side with a pull down menu.

There is a bookmark button in right upper corner. All these buttons are very unobtrusive and do not distract from the main page.

There is no separate search option, but you type the keywords and you get an option for search or suggested links to open. Right clicking on any page gives you options for page source and inspect which open in a new window showing HTML and other details of the page.

The pages load a little faster because it is light and uses less memory and Flash, Quicktime ...

      • and real player work fine with this browser. The tabs can be seen right at the top of the screen because there is no toolbar or anything else above it.

I have not yet tried to install any other toolbar because I like the minimum and no fuss looks of Google chrome. Special feature that I like is the Incognito browsing option which opens in a new window and you get this message - Pages you view in this window won’t appear in your browser history or search history, and they won’t leave other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close the incognito window.

Any files you download or bookmarks you create will be preserved, however. This is great when

you are using a public computer and don’t want to leave anything behind when you close the browser.

Disadvantage is that unlike Firefox it does not save the tabs before closing, although it shows them on the homepage. There is an option to change the homepage but I like the default style and will stick to it.

Another problem is that you can not change your save password option, once you have declined and said never for this site. The downloads do not start in a new window, but you see a small box at the bottom left showing progress of downloads, with option to open them.

There is no option for adding widgets, but fr people who just like to browse and work fast, this is an ideal Browser.
