      “The Wackness” is one of those films that you will only like if you are a fan of drama that encompasses smarmy dialogue and very little action. This movie is set in the 90s around the time that the Notorious B. I.

      G. was really popular.

      This high school senior


      named Luke Shapiro sells his therapist weed in exchange for his sessions. He then falls in love with the therapist’s stepdaughter, much to the Dr.

      ’s chagrin. The relationship between the two teens blossoms out of control.

      It turns out that Luke should have heeded Dr. Squires’ ...


      • (Ben Kingsley) advice, because Stephanie (Olivia Thirlby) ends up breaking his heart.

        But that’s not really what the story is about. The drama flits back and forth between characters.

        So this is very much a thinking perosn’s film. I like that there were some dynamics never

        seen before in cinema.

        For instance, the hip-hop music really plays a big part of the movie. But there seems to be no real resolution towards the end, which was kind of a let down for me.

        It’s a good movie. But action seekers might get bored.
