Checkers Tobacco is a fairly new brand of tobacco in our local area. It is a product that comes from New York according to the packaging. Like most Americans we have been hit by my husband being laid off so we have had to look for ways to save money or cut back on luxuries each month. One of those luxuries includes my husbands habit of smoking two or more packs of cigarettes a day. When he is working and we can afford it he likes to smoke

However while he is laid off we have went to rolling his cigarette’s. Usually I can roll about three cartons of cigarettes out of one sixteen ounce bag of tobacco.
The Checkers brand of tobacco cost about 12. 99 a bag and will typically last about two or three weeks depending on how many of my husbands friends drop by to bum cigarettes off of him.
The Checkers brand is the cheapest in our area. It comes with 660 papers but we usually buy tops papers instead.

I would like to know the area that you live in. You said that your husband smokes 2 packs a day and you was only spending $ 23 a week. I spend around $ 90 a week on just my smokes for Marlboro Lights, plus my ole lady smokes them too. Just curious because with them prices I’d drive a 500 mile distance a month to get smokes for that price. Thanks, Michael
