I was pregnant and shopping accessories for the baby. I was looking for a milder shampoo for my newborn. I looked at the usual Johnson’s baby shampoo and found that the ingredients listed on it does not look any milder . Most of the ingredients listed on it looks almost similar to any adult shampoo. Since i was not fully convinced i looked in many stores

for an alternate. Then i found this Burt’s bee line of product in Target store. I was skeptical at first as usual with any natural product claimed to be “natural” . Then i looked its ingredients carefully. I saw they listed in Bold that it was PH balanced, Sodium Lauryl/ Laureth Sulfate free, Paraben Free, Phthalate free. These are the usual and very basic ingredients used in any famous brand name soap or shampoo. According to the research these chemicals are very dangerous and wouldn’t be gentle for the little ones.

Then i started to read more on Burt’s bee baby shampoo ingredients list and found that its made from all natural oils like sunflower, coconut oil, soy protein, lemon oil, vegetable glycerin etc. Finally i found something that i could rely upon.

I used it on my newborn and found it to be very good. Its very gentle , leaves a nice natural fragrance that doesn’t smell like chemical. You can even use it on baby’s skin to wash. Beside Target you can get it in other stores like Whole Foods, Bed bath and Beyond and online. The usual retail price is $8.00 for a bottle and
      it lasts long.

Positive: Its gentle, free of chemicals, all natural and tear free.It doesn’t dry out the skin if used in moderation.

Negative: Its a little expensive. But as they say, you get what you pay for.

Tip: Use olive oil on baby’s hair before the bath to have the hair conditioned properly. Use for shampoo purpose only. For baby’s skin you can use plain Dove soap too.
