OK, I know the show House has been going downhill a bit over the past couple seasons but last night’s episode “The Softer Side” was one of the few times I felt like I wasted an hour of my life watching it. I’m not sure what’s worse, having a patient with both male

or female DNA (which is unusual, I’ll give you that but still feels like it’s been done before) having an unknown disease that doesn’t even have anything to do with it or having House getting off the Vicadon and on something even stronger that eliminates his pain, leaving him in a great mood,

      • but also puts his life in serious risk. The entire plot of the latter was just too predictable. Cuddy forces him to choose between the drugs and his job and he takes the drugs. Then she realizes she made a mistake, asks him to come back only to have him decide the drugs
make him too happy and hurt his ability to diagnose patients. The only good thing about this episode was a quick lesson as to why doctors should never listen to the parents of their patients; a lesson that was missed early on in the episode and led to all the problems; pretty cool. Other than that, this episode was pointless.
