      There is something really creepy and cool about watching Leo DiCaprio run around with a basketball, a notebook, and a syringe full of heroin. I like true

      stories, and this one is about a drug riddled artist named Jim Carroll.

      Leo does a bang-up job delivering the performance.

      It is both heart-wrenching and vivid to watch on screen.

      Ernie Hudson plays Jim’s friend Reggie.

      The tenderness onscreen between these two is absolutely phenomenal.

      I think that Ernie Hudson is really an underrated actor.

      And Lorraine Bracco does a great job of portraying the concerned mother.

      she locks Jim out of the house almost made me cry.

      At other times, this movie seemed a little forced.

      It was almost as if the director was trying to ram the sadness down the throats of his audience.

      Perhaps he simply did this as a way of making sure that people knew what kind of personal H3LL Jim was really going through.

      At any rate, it’s a good film.

      Great to watch Leo act at such a young age–with this much intensity.
