    • Item: The Ice Storm (R, 1997) movie Location: by: Famous

This movie is incredibly moody and wonderful. It takes place in the 70’s and follows a suburban family through the boredom and mundanity

      of their lives.

Christina Ricci does an absolutely excellent job of portraying the angst of a teenager who’s curious about her sexuality.

Sigourney Weaver does a great job of portraying the jaded suburban [expletive].

At any rate, this movie has very little action.

I believe Ang Lee is the director.

He’s really good at creating moods with his sets.

In watching the extra features for The Ice Storm, I found it interesting how they created the icicles, and virtually all the wintry details.

It’s kind of difficult to describe

      this film.

It really centers aroung (two) families in New England.

But the familial themes of boredom, lust, coming of age, midlife crises all come crashing down in silence of this film.

      It’s really very good.
