The amazing feats of Michael Phelps in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, were amazing. Not only did he win 8 gold medals but he won those eight with a ton of pressure on his shoulders. Every single race he had, everyone was looking at him waiting for him to win again, and if he didn’t, there would be dissapointment.

He stayed calm throughout the entire Olympics, and was able to finish with 8 gold,

but what impressed me the most, was the way he handled it. He isn’t one of those guys that will go off and say how he’s the best.

Phelps just accepted it, was happy, and wasn’t talking to the press about how good he was. I really liked some of the things that he said after the relay.

Here is what he said and I quote, “I couldn’t have done it without my team. ” The ...

      • truth is that he won that race in his leg of the swim, but he gave a lot of credit to his team.

Once he had completed his quest to beat Mark Spitz’ Olympic gold medal record, a phone call he had with Mark Spitz was something that was enjoyable to see for all audiences. Spitz told Phelps that he was passing on the best olympic athlete on to Phelps.

        Michael was without words, and

was a little embarrassed by that fact. In the aftermath of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China, people will never forget Phelps’ dominating performance.

He will go down in the record books, and has set a record that many think will never be broken. That’s what people thought about Spitz’ record to, but it was broken.

Phelps has upped the challenge by one gold medal, which will be very challenging for another athlete to beat much less tie.
