  • There is a security guard on duty at night, but with three buildings to look after, and him no longer working one night a week, security is an issue The building itself isn't all that bad though the outside could do with a fresh coat of paint

Cedartree village apartment complex is currently made up of two buildings, with the third one being rebuilt after a huge fire gutted it just over 2 years ago.

Each building is three floors high with around 35 apartments on each floor. Rent for these apartments starts at around $650 for a one bedroom, going up to $900+ for a two bedroom with fireplace.

Just recently, in the building on Hall Road, where I live, a new building manager took over the reins. I can’t say that he’s been a success. We had a lot of snow this past winter, and our parking lot was left unplowed

for over 2 weeks. Our grounds are no longer kept in good condition, the grass is left unmowed, and we have no lights on around the building at night. Our parking lot is also unlit, and as a result, we’ve had our car broken into twice in the two years we’ve been here. • sizes, and come equipped with a stove, and a fridge-freezer. Included in the rent is heat and hot water, but the other bills, you pay for yourself.

There is a laundry room on the second floor, which has 5 washers and four dryers for use, using a card instead of cash. Be warned though, one of the dryers has been out of use for over 2 years, and don’t try to do laundry at the weekend. It’s hard to even get a washer, and you can be waiting 2 hours or more for a dryer.

The building used to allow cats and dogs.

That is no longer the case. Those residents who already had pets before the changes are allowed to keep theirs, but no new ones are allowed. This is a blow, because only 5% of available rental accommodation in Vancouver allows pets to start with. That percentage is dropping drastically.

Myself and my partner do not feel secure in this building anymore. We moved here because the rent was cheap and we were allowed pets. Now we’re looking for somewhere else to live where we can live without fear of having our car broken into and without fear of being told that Pets are no longer allowed.

I agree with everything that has been said about this complex. Starting with no snow removal in the winter time to no grass cutting in the summer, walkways and parking lots are always full of pine needles and pine cones, which make walking a hazard esp at nite time when there is no lights in the parking lots. There was no heat in the winter months and when you went to the managment about it, you were told to buy your own heaters and if you didnt like it then move. The man Lavern who runs the office is constanly telling peple to f off and hanging up on them, not very professionial if you ask me. The other man Dan threatens people with violence and has been seen beating a tenant up back in Feb of this year. The inside of the building is rarely cleaned anymore, it is a constant thing to see used condoms in the stairwells, the security is never around when he is needed. The keys dont work right in the doors and the roof leaks after they said they put a new roof on. ALSO they have screwed with the fire alarm system, you cant hear the fire bells going off, which is not good at all since alot of people know how fast these buildings can burn 7185 Hall road 2006 Now the managment is wanting to raise the rents without giveing the tenants anything in return. I DO NOT recommend this place for anyone who is considering renting at Cedartree Village, DONT DO IT You have been warned

My name is Dave Hope Jr.my parents managed the buildings for over 20 years,I worked there for 9 years, together with a great staff we kept up on it all, upgrading all 3 buildings, landscaping, lighting, parking lots clean, snow removal and salt, ever a problem anywhere we were right there to fix it.Mainstreet moved in overnight, changed locks fired everyone,I personally lost over 10,000 in tools and equipment I had in the underground parking in B building.Laverne and Dan both are lowlife thieves. As for both Debbie and Lisa that were part of our staff, backstabbing sellouts they are,my parents treated them really well,to turn around do what they did, karma will be theirs I’m sure.I wouldn’t live there now if rent were free.between the black mold hidden in the walls,to the cracks in the underground parking in b building which by now is about to collapse.place should be condemned
