I didn’t realize just how good Tim Robbins is at playing not only evil, creepy guys–but psychotic lunatics as well. This time, he plays Oliver Lang–the all time great next door neighbor, husband, and father.

He’s married to a very creepy and Stepford-esque Joan Cusack.

They are really perfectly cast in their roles.

The film is set in a quiet suburb which holds many secrets.

The opening scene with the boy’s accident is extremely chilling, and ...

      • sets the pace for the rest of the tension in the film.

Arlington Road works because there are many neighborhoods just like this one, all which house some kind of personal terror or another.

The events that unfold are unbelievable.

        But they’re

        supposed to be.

That’s the horror of the movie.

I won’t say that there are award winning performances in this film.

It’s entertaining and does the trick of getting the audience to think about the “safe” little neighborhoods they live in.
