MacGyver brings the fans a real treat in this two-parter from season seven, call Good Knight MacGyver. It’s just an amazing show that makes you laugh and smile. In Part 1, Mac and Pete are learning about Mac’s ancestry. The genealogist is played by Colm Meaney of Star Trek: The Next Generation fame. He tells Mac that

the MacIver clan, which he suspects is the same as MacGyver, goes back to the 7th century. Mac looks skeptical, but he listens.

When leaving the genealogist’s office, Mac sees an accident about to happen and rushes in to save the day, though he gets hit on the head in the process. When he awakens, he’s back in the days ...

      • of King Arthur and Merlin. Amazingly, Pete looks just like the good king.

Richard Dean Anderson is incredibly funny in this first part. He plays it with a comical edge, as though it’s a crazy dream, which I’m sure Mac thinks it is. His delivery, demeanor, and expressions all reek of amusement. Just watching him makes me laugh.

        One

of my favorite parts is when he jousts with the evil Duncan. I don’t know how much of the riding Anderson really did, but it was a pleasure to see him on the horse.

By the end of the show, he’s wearing a knight’s uniform and has essentially been knighted by Arthur. He looks adorable.

This is a super episode; I just love it!
