With any and every iPhone and iPod Touch you get a free application installed called mail. This is basically like a Microsoft outlook for the iPhone and iPod Touch where you can download your emails directly onto the device. I will say that this is one of the easiest and fastest ways to get my emails.

With no need to wait and boot up my desktop computer. By default the mail app is automatically able to set up a different selection of mail accounts, including, Yahoo, AOL, Google mail, and Microsoft exchange, If you use any of these services, you just simply select your service, type in your username and password, and the software will do all the rest of it

      for you.

That’s what I like! You can add others if you wanted too but you have to know all the server settings first (easily obtainable off Google) After everything is set up nothing can be faster. As long as you are connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or 3G if on an iPhone, the software will automatically search for and download the emails, immediately to the device with nothing else to do.

It’s all done by a tap of the finger. What is also a brilliant feature is the fact of push, when activated the software will run in the background, then every time that it checks and finds an email the iPhone/iPod Touch 2G will beep to ...

      • tell you that you have new emails.

If you have an attachment in any emails that you get, i. e.

a word document, pdf or picture. You are easily able to load the attachment and view it in the mail application, all without having to have any separate software installed.

Fantastic! You can’t however edit the documents, you will have to get the email on your computer and then edit it manually etc. Having said this I would say that editing files on the iPhone and iPod Touch would be rather difficult due to its small screen etc.

But it’s still a really good thing to have, as you won’t have to be tethered to the computer to view that all

important business document. I have no problems whatsoever with the mail application, it works all the time, and it has never froze crashed or anything like that, it just seems to work seamlessly.

I would really recommend that you give the app a try it’s worth it. It’s just a real shame that having the likes of hotmail is very difficult to get everything set up and working as it should, I haven’t been able to do it anyway.

That’s why I just use it for the Google mail. The software is completely free and is included on all of the latest and most up to date iPhones and iPod touches.

Go on give it a try, it won’t harm you to.
