MacGyver becomes a GT Cup race driver when the Phoenix Foundation develops a new environmental engine in this fourth season entry of MacGyver called Collision Course.

One thing I have to mention first that is bugging me in the last two episodes is Richard Dean Anderson’s hair. It’s just driving me nuts. It’s the front more than the longer hair in the back. Instead of just hanging down a bit

like bangs, they are swept over to the right, and it just looks weird. It’s one of the things from season four that I don’t like.

In MacGyver: Collision Course, we see a lot GT racing. Apparently, Mac has done some racing in the past, about eight years ago, and now he has to face the demons from those days and a nasty crash that resulted in the death of another driver ...

      • and race again. It’s very angsty stuff for our hero. He berates himself at one point (Good ole clever MacGyver can fix anything) and struggles with what to do when tragedy occurs. There’s a nice moment between Mac and Pete towards the end when Pete throws that back at him, saying, “Maybe it’s time he fixed himself.”

Political outcast G. Gordon Liddy guest stars in this episode. He opposes

the new plastic engine and will do anything to make sure his racer wins the big race.

Kai Wulff does a great job as Mac’s old racing nemesis, Hans Visser, while Patrick Wayne is admirable as Mac’s old friend and racer, Jeff Stone. I also love Peter Williams in his role as Moe. He’s terrific and lots of fun to watch. It’s a part quite unlike his Apophis character on Stargate SG-1.
