Jack Dalton strikes again in The Odd Triple episode of the third season of MacGyver. Bruce McGill has this part down cold and plays him well, but he still drives me nuts and I don’t enjoy these episodes as much as I do the others. Jack continues to get Mac into trouble, and Mac keeps going along. It just

      bugs me to no end.

Of note in MacGyver: The Odd Triple is the guest appearance of Judy Geeson as Elena Iturbe, or so she claims. Geeson made a big impact in To Sir with Love and then years later when she had a recurring part as a neighbor on Mad About You. In this story, Geeson isn’t really Iturbe, but ...

      • is Liane Auber, a jewel thief who manages to fool Jack (and subsequently Mac) that she’s a legitimate wealthy diamond collector. They escort her to France where she takes off and Mac and Jack are arrested.

What is fun about this episode, though, is that Pete finds out what’s going on and immediately goes to France. There he finds Jack and

he really gives it to him. I was smiling. Pete was saying everything I keep thinking about Jack. Then Pete realizes that he has to trust Jack to help save Mac, whose still being held captive. It’s nice to watch Pete do some undercover work.

The walk off, where Pete and Mac leave the scheming Jack behind is a great ending, too.
