In MacGyver: Bushmaster, MacGyver is sent to rescue a downed pilot named Joe Henderson. A complication ensues when Joe’s daughter, Kelly, shows up, wanting to rescue her father herself. Kelly’s on a mission to prove to her dad that she’s every bit the son he never had and always wanted.

That’s the emotional tug of the story. Kelly is desperate for her father’s love and approval. Of course, father and daughter get things straightened out by the end.

MacGyver: Bushmaster has a nice supporting cast. Sandy McPeak plays the man who sends Mac on the rescue mission, and John Schuck plays ...

      • Joe Henderson. Schuck is best know for being the sidekick on MacMillan and Wife. He tends to do a lot of comedic characters, but he’s highly capable of dramatic roles as this performance shows.

Renee Estevez plays Kelly and does a great job. We easily feel her pain and her determination.

She gets Mac in trouble, but we can’t blame her. Then there’s Bert Rosario, who does a good job as the defense counsel.

MacGyver: Bushmaster is a good show, with some good action and appropriate drama. It’s not the best MacGyver outing, but it’s entertaining and a good way to enjoy an evening.
