I would only advise eating at Sonny’s if you have the taste for something similar to BBQ, but not quite—… Basically this BBQ chain serves what seem like mass produced BBQ sandwiches made out of

      chicken, beef, or pork.

The sliced meat looks a little too “perfect” to have come directly off a traditional BBQ grill.

And the barbecue sauce tastes a little too tomato-ey, and has very little hickory flavor to it whatsoever.

      • Very artificial.

Furthermore, I can’t really tell the difference between the hot version, and the other versions.

        The sides are not bad.

I actually liked the baked beans and cole slaw.

The fries are your average frozen food kind–nothing special.

But the value for the food is fairly reasonable.

I have only eaten here a few times, and that was only because there wasn’t anything else in the area that I wanted.

        It’s not bad.

But it’s definitely more BBQ-substitute BBQ.
