  • It's high on people interaction, which I prefer over the action stuff, but this story just doesn't do anything for me
  • The interesting quirk here is that the Bennett brothers are played by real life brothers, Robert and Richard Romanus, respectively
  • The best scene is probably when Mac 'rescues' Frank from the Feds

MacGyver: The Prodigal has never been a favorite of mine. It’s high on people interaction, which I prefer over the action stuff, but this story just doesn’t do anything for me. Whenever it comes on, I’m more apt to change the channel than I am with most any of the other shows in this series.

      • interesting quirk here is that the Bennett brothers are played by real life brothers, Robert and Richard Romanus, respectively. The casting works; they just bore me, to be honest. The point of the story is that their mother is dying and Frank wants to see her again. It’s just not an easy task.

One of Mac’s fun tricks here is where he

makes everyone think there’s a fire by pouring a soda over dry ice and placing it in a vent. That’s a favorite trick.

The best scene is probably when Mac ‘rescues’ Frank from the Feds. He masquerades as a tow truck driver, and it’s just a hoot how he plays the part and then fools the government men.

Overall, though, just not a big favorite of mine.
